Situation
Syrian and international companies required trademark protection in Syria and other jurisdictions, together with assistance in related trademark disputes.
Legal work
We handled the Syrian registration process from initial review and filing preparation through submission, authority follow-up and completion. For protection outside Syria, we handled or coordinated the applicable registration procedure and assisted with dispute and opposition matters.
Outcome
Trademark registration mandates were completed for Syrian and international clients, and clients were supported in protecting and defending their marks across the relevant jurisdictions.
Sector: Corporate law and market entry
Situation
Syrian entrepreneurs and foreign investors from the GCC and North Africa required company formation in Syria, while European clients at an early stage needed advice on suitable market-entry options.
Legal work
We advised on legal structure, ownership and management arrangements, prepared incorporation documents, addressed applicable approvals and completed registration formalities. Early-stage clients received advice on entry structures, licensing requirements and practical next steps.
Outcome
Company formations were completed for Syrian and foreign investors. European and other early-stage clients received tailored legal roadmaps before committing to establishment.
Sector: Commercial disputes and debt recovery
Situation
During 2026, we handled 20 commercial debt-recovery matters involving debtors in Syria. The quality and completeness of the supporting documentation varied between matters.
Legal work
We reviewed contracts, invoices, correspondence and available evidence, then selected the appropriate combination of formal demands, negotiations, litigation and enforcement measures.
Outcome
Fourteen of the 20 matters—70% of the total—resulted in full recovery, with recovery completed in less than one year. Some recoveries were achieved through amicable solutions, including matters where the documentation was incomplete.
